This was probably the most indulgent way to visit Venice but the Local Milk Retreat was really worth the expense. Not only did we stay in a private palazzo (it’s location is a secret as this is still a family home) that was 100s of years old.

We don’t know about you, but we have been on quite a few weekends away in the UK over the years, we’ve been in the Cotswolds for friend’s birthdays, Liverpool for hen dos (yeah we did, and we LOVED it), and Suffolk for general any-excuse catch ups.

To kick-start our new year’s resolution to wear more print (surely it’s the easiest way to brighten up a drab, dark and dry January), we finally got along to the Fashion and Textile Museum’s Liberty in Fashion exhibition – and found out it’s about much more than paisley and pattern.
